You can delete your Shimmer account and its data at any time — it takes two steps in the app, and if you can no longer log in you can simply email us. Deletion cannot be undone: please export any works you want to keep to your phone's gallery first.
\n\nOption 1 — delete in the app (recommended): open Shimmer → Me tab → the Settings section → Delete Account → confirm. Path: Me → Settings → Delete Account.
Option 2 — if you cannot log in: email us from your registered address to [email protected] (if no address is shown, use the developer contact on our Google Play store page) with the subject Delete my account, including your registered email and nickname so we can verify ownership. We confirm the account belongs to you, delete it, and reply. This normally completes within 7 business days.
What gets deleted — account identity data (email, password hash, nickname, avatar, referral code; the account row is irreversibly "tombstoned" — placeholder email, unusable password — so it can never be used to log in again); all login tokens are invalidated immediately; your generation records (prompts, settings, reference-image features, generation audit) and every work file (videos, covers, thumbnails, reference-image folder, avatar files); public submissions (un-published from Discover) with their likes and moderation tags; favourites, follows, friends and friend requests; usage statistics and level / XP data.
What we keep in anonymised form — the credit ledger (reconciliation; it holds an internal ID, not your email or nickname); completed purchase order records (product, order ID, purchase token, state) needed for reconciliation, anti-fraud and tax; the version record of the agreement you accepted at registration; and referral reward attribution plus work-usage audit (anti-fraud). After deletion none of these contain directly identifying information, and they are deleted once the statutory retention period expires. Crash logs carry no account identifier and cannot be linked back to your account.
Before you delete — export the works you want to keep to your phone's gallery first; unused credits are lost with the account and cannot be restored; after deletion you can no longer log in and nothing can be recovered (re-registering with the same email starts from scratch); and if a generation is still running, wait for it to finish or cancel it first.
Need help? See the Privacy Policy (section 6 lists your rights, including deleting a single work without deleting the account). Deleting one work does not require account deletion — remove it from Me → Library and the file is removed from our servers too. Any other question: [email protected].
